PROJECT RESULT 1

Multi-method, iterative and user-centered needs assessment for the next generation

PR1 will take the form of a transnational research report that will present the findings of a need assessment that will be used to develop a curriculum (PR2) that will meet the learning needs of participants.

More specifically, PR1 will:

  • Inform traditional banks about the limitations of social enterprises in order to increase the availability of debt finance to social entrepreneurs

  • Allow social finance providers to gain insight into the finance gaps left by traditional banks in order to adjust their offer accordingly

  • Improve civil servants' understanding of policy options in the context of the social enterprise ecosystem in order to improve institutional decisions

PROJECT RESULT 3

Open Guide for VET Providers

PR3 will be a digital trainer's manual, a comprehensive manual for designing, developing, and delivering effective and engaging financial training for early-stage social entrepreneurs and managers. Throughout PR3, the trainer is depicted as someone who can impart information, facilitate learning, stimulate thought, and engage participants through active training. Active training shifts the focus from the trainer to the learner. Active training, in particular, is based on the assumptions that learning is an active endeavor and that different people learn in different ways. Given PR2's inquiry-based, learner-directed instructional strategy, this type of training approach appears especially appropriate. The ultimate goal of PR3 is to support trainers in enabling social entrepreneurs and managers to act in innovative and enterprising ways, especially when it comes to financial planning.
