European Center for Social Finance

The European Center for Social Finance (ECSF) was created to help establish best practices and distribute knowledge in financing the provision of social services and social innovations. The Center is based at Munich Business School, bundling its expertise in social entrepreneurship and social finance and offering a platform for applied research in these areas. It works with partner organizations across Europe.

Over the last 10 years, there has been an emergence of new institutions and actors financing enterprises creating social or environmental impact. These communities are often not interacting and there is insufficient exchange across countries or topics. The ECSF aims to bridge this interaction gap across borders, thus contributing to the development of the social finance field by offering technical assistance to investors and investees, developing and implementing methods and tools across the entire investment process, and disseminating knowledge and best practices through publications.
